Patti Smith Gloria live on It s Gloria (In Excelsis Deo) Patti improvised and reinvented the original lyrics by Van Morrison, who first released the song as the bside of Them s Baby Please Don t Go in 1964 in fact Morrison often adlibbed the lyrics himself.
