Primitive Bow and Arrow for Survival in 1 DAY from nature with a KNIFE
I made this powerful bow and arrows using only natural materials in less than a day. This skill might save your life some day. Bow is 51 inches long. The stave was cut from a white oak tree (Quercus alba) using a knife. Limbs were shaped, carved and tapered all with same knife, bow is wider at handle and narrows as it approaches tips. The handle is about 5 inches long about 1 inch by 1 inch in thickness. The string was made from 4 thin long continuous strips of prestretched animal rawhide. The strips were cut from a large hide by cutting all along the edge which produces long curled strips. I then stretched them until they were mostly straight and then put them in warm water to make pliable. I then twisted them all into one strong cordage, hung it with weight to stretch it even more while it dried. This produced a very strong bowstring of perfect diameter. Arrows were made from a variety of woods from poplar to redbud tree and were fletched with found wild turkey feathers. The feather was cut into sections
