History making Haitians question US troop deployment
Around 96, 000 people have fled their homes in Haitis capital, the UNs International Organization for Migration has reported, as the country remains gripped by multiple crises including skyrocketing prices, gang violence and a spiraling cholera outbreak. Meanwhile, the US has suggested deploying an international security force to Haiti, but the request has been met with concern by many in the country, considering the long history of previous American interventions.
