But there is something about Everest, a mystique that lures adventurers from all over the world too often, to their death. In fact, more than 200 people have died trying to conquer the mountain, at least a dozen so far this year. In 2006, we lost pioneer Australian climber Sue Fear in the Himalayas. And of course, there s also Lincoln Hall, presumed dead, then miraculously rescued. His survival is the stuff of legend.
