Hi. My name is Paul Lazarus and Ill be coming to the Moscow Film School to teach a master directing class from June 21st to June 26th. Ive been a theater, TV and film director for over 30 years directing such Television shows as Friends, Everyone Loves Raymond, Ugly Betty, Baywatch and Samantha Who Ive been one of the lucky few directors to work on all three major forms of commercial American TV: sitcoms, dramas and singlecamera comedies. Half hour Sitcoms (like Friends) are typically videotaped like stage plays before a live audience in studios with 4cameras covering the action, Onehour Dramas (like Baywatch and Ugly Betty) are shot more like minimovies with 1 or 2 cameras in studio sets and onlocation, halfhour single camera comedies are also shot like movies in studios and real locations.
