Bassist Verdine White and his lead singer brother Maurice White were long time members of Earth, Wind and Fire. The cofounder and leader of Earth, Wind Fire, died February 4, 2016 in his Los Angeles home at age 74. My brother, hero and best friend Maurice White passed away peacefully last night in his sleep, said Verdine White. While the world has lost another great musician and legend, our family asks that our privacy is respected as we start what will be a very difficult and lifechanging transition in our lives. Thank you for your prayers and well Maurice White stopped touring with the group since his diagnosis of Parkinson s disease in the 90s, yet he remained behind the scenes as EWF continued to tour, including the three 2013 soldout shows at the Hollywood Bowl.
