Wilhelm Reich was born on March 24, 1897, on a small farm in what is now the Ukraine. A student of psychology, at age twentythree he became one of Freuds prized associates and began private practice as an analytic psychiatrist, coining the term orgone energy as in the word orgasm and organism to describe a biological energy that he said he had discovered, or rediscovered in modern times.
