VES Nominee for Outstanding Model The Jolly Roger This 3D asset was no simple boat. It needed to sail the ocean, soar skyward with fairy dust, crash into cliffs, host an epic upsidedown battle, and glide through Londons clouds. It also had to blend with the partial build used on set, requiring a pixelperfect model and lookdev to create a completely photoreal blend from plate to CG. Miles of accurately rigged ropes and layered sail simulations, 12 types of wood across five hundred UDIMs, scattered barnacles and groomed moss, seaweed and salt stains, torn sails, and broken masts, all had to come together to create an extraordinarily complex asset that could at once be photoreal but also incredibly and stunningly magical.
