Leslie Holmes (1934)
Titles read: Now The NEW EMPIRE REVIEW presents The Smiling Vocalist LESLIE HOLMES of BBC and Record Pathe Studio, London. Variety star Leslie Holmes stands on a set dressed to look like a drawing room. A man plays the piano as Leslie sings the humorous song I m The Monster of Loch Ness. In a break in the song, Leslie says he thinks we should all go up to Scotland to see if we can find the monster ourselves. Cut to general view of Loch Ness as Leslie says we all have to be very quiet. The shot freezes and we hear a strange mooing noise. Someone asks if that s the monster and Leslie says Of course it s not the monster, that s my wife . We go back to the studio and Leslie sings another chorus of the song. Leslie then says he has a surprise for us he s going to introduce us to the monster. We hear the same noise as before, then a model monster head appears on the balcony behind Leslie. He goes over and pats the monster then goes with him for a drink. FILM A VIDEO F
