The Rails Hotel, Byron Bay, New South Wales, Australia
The Rails Hotel in Byron Bay, aka The Railway Friendly Bar, as I remember it as the pub at the back with alternative music and crowds back in the 70s to 80s were the whole east Coast of Australia had more live bands than venues to cater for them, The railway hotel was at the back of the railway track near these round water tank and the railway hotel attached to the old timber Train station. The pub the Rails Hotel is still a patron to the Arts, Entertainment and Music scene in Northern New South Wales and have gathers supporters of the local sports and communities, Byron Bay has come a long way from the past country village used by local farmers and cane cutters the meat cannery and sand mining industry now as holiday destination.
