Girls Can Play (1937) Julie Bishop, Charles Quigley, Rita Hayworth

Two girls, Ann Casey and Sue Collins, are on the same softball team and end up in danger from the gangsters. A newspaper man is sent out to get a story about one of the girls trying to get a job, and meets Ann Casey who he romances. He is more interested in getting the story on a shady character involved with her innocent friend. The gangster pretends that he is a businessman, but he is waiting with his cronies to make a lucrative deal which is a phony, then split.
