Knuckles the Echidna is struggling with the pressure of being the guy, the hero, the Sonic the Hedgehog replacement. Hes treating his friends like rubbish, because hes scared. When its no longer Sonic AND Knuckles, and just Knux by himself well, it becomes Sonic vs Knuckles at least in the dreadlocked tough guys head. At least Tails is here to try and give The Red Dude a bit of a pep talk. After all, what are friends for And that pep talk is necessary, because theres a massive Sonic boom coming in the form of a ginormous kaiju.
