Battle of the Rosebud, Episode 1

General George Crook sets out to redeem himself after an embarrassing winter campaign that culminated with the Battle of the Powder River, which energized the Sioux and Northern Cheyenne to resist the upcoming onslaught. Crook s large force of over 1, 300 soldiers moves out, but Crook fails to enlist any Sioux as scouts and struggles to locate promised Shoshone and Crow allies. The Sioux and Northern Cheyenne will surprise Crook not once, but twice. This video sets the stage for what is likely the largest fight of the Old West.
