The Lunar Series continues with the 2023 Year of the Rabbit The Lunar Series celebrates the 12 animals of the Chinese Lunar Calendar. The designs feature a fierce twist on each animal that is not found in other programs at sovereign and private mints. The Chinese Lunar Calendar, or Chinese Zodiac, follows a 12year cycle that starts with the Year of the Mouse and ends with the Year of the Pig. As such, each animal appears on the calendar every 12th year. Additionally, each of the 12 animals in the zodiac comes in five variations representing the five major elements: wood, water, fire, earth, and metal. 2023 marks the return of the Water Rabbit, its first appearance since 1963.
