Jennifer Grey and Vincent Walsh star in the new Lifetime Ripped from the Headlines original movie, Gwen Shamblin: Starving for Salvation. Based on a true story, the movie centers on the controversial religious leader and faithbased diet creator who positioned herself as Gods prophet and preached the virtues of being thin. Shamblins story came to a tragic end in May 2021, when the plane that her husband Joe Lara (played by Walsh) was flying crashed shortly after takeoff, killing Gwen, Joe, their soninlaw, and four other Church leaders.
