Qala i Jangi Prison Uprising, US UK Special Forces, November 2001

In November 2001, in the 19th Century fort of QalaiJangi, Taliban prisoners rose up against their Afghan guards and seized control over half of the fort. Trapped inside were two Agents, one of whom was Missing in Action whilst the other borrowed a phone from a journalist to raise the alarm of the situation. Immediately, the United States Central Command dispatched a combined USUK Special Forces group, including Green Beret s, a Navy and Special Boat Service operators, to the fort with the mission of extracting the two Agents to safety.
