Hurricane Milton surges to Category 5 storm, Live NOW from FOX

Hurricane Milton rapidly intensified into a Category 5 storm with 175mph winds. Landfall is expected along Florida s Gulf Coast, ranging anywhere between Fort Myers Cedar Key late Wednesday or very early Thursday morning. Lifethreatening weather will strike Florida when Milton makes landfall. The storm surge forecast for Tampa Bay is between 8 and 12 feet if the surge coincides with high tide, according to Fox Weather. Milton is moving east at 9 mph. The National Hurricane Center issued a Hurricane Watch for Florida s Gulf Coast from Chokoloskee to the Suwanee River. Governor Ron DeSantis declared a state of emergency for 51 Florida counties.
