Phobias
Phobias involve having an extreme fear and excessive anxiety about a specific object or situation. This video explains the symptoms of phobia and how that presents in young children at home, in school and in the community. We have a Tip sheet for Parents and Caregivers to help children with phobia. The tips presented can be used by caregivers, teachers, and friends in various settings. If your child is experiencing frequent anxiety that is interfering with his, her everyday life, and is not reducing with your efforts to support him, her, please talk to your childs doctor or healthcare professional about seeking professional support with a psychologist. Children with anxiety disorder are known to respond well to professional intervention. The psychologist can work with you and, or your child to develop a tailored approach to manage your childs anxiety.
