I guess this short documentary film from Soviet Estonia could be called a social commentary or a study on an ancient Estonian holiday in its contemporary context. Filmmaker Andres Sööt with his breathtaking cinematography opens up perspectives on the whole sociocultural context revolving around a St. John s Day celebration in Tallinn and on the local people with their lives full of paradoxical ambivalence and polarities.
