This new production comprises Bachs iconic oratorio St Matthew Passion and a resurrection finale which has been jointly written by Streetwise Operas performers and celebrated composer Sir James MacMillan. Its directed by awardwinning British filmmaker Penny Woolcock with visual designs and live projections by Dick Bird and Imitating the Dog. The recording is made possible by The Space. Streetwise Opera is an awardwinning charity that uses music to help people make positive changes in their lives. Working with people who have experienced homelessness and other members of the community, it runs music workshops across England, and stages criticallyacclaimed opera productions.
