Remembering Hormozd Gahvari Illini Hillel Create A Jewish Legacy

Hormozd Gahvari, graduated from the University of Illinois at UrbanaChampaign in 2003 with his BS; and in 2014 with his Phd. On Erev Rosh Hashanah 2016 Hormozd passed away after a long battle with Ewing Sarcoma. His parents, Firouz and Nasrin Gahvari made an endowment gift to Illini Hillel in his memory. , allowing Jewish students at the University of Illinois to enjoy Rosh Hashanah meals for free for the future. In this video, Firouz and Nasrin share a little bit about Hormozd. He is sadly missed and all of us at Hillel are happy to celebrate his life during Rosh Hashanah.
