The Anniversary Of The Assassination Of Abu Musab al Zarqawi

On June 7th 2006, the leader of the Jama at alTawhid walJihad group, Abu Musab alZarqawi, was killed in a safehouse located in Baqubah, Iraq by two United States Air Force F16C jets which identified the house and dropped two 500pound guided bombs, a laserguided GBU12 and GPSguided GBU38 which also killed 5 others. However, when alZarqawi situated himself in Iraq after the US military invasion, the wal Jihad group renamed themselves, Al Qaeda in Iraq, after alZarqawi pledged loyalty to Osama Bin Laden.
