Lena Dunham and the Cast of Sharp Stick at Variety Studio Sundance
Lena Dunham is known for her hit TV show, Girls, and has spent the last few years keeping busy with a memoir and multiple television projects. But before she did any of that, in 2010 she wrote, directed and starred in Tiny Furniture, a semiautobiographical comedy that won a top prize when it premiered at South by Southwest. Now, shes back to filmmaking with Sharp Stick, which tells the story of 26yearold virgin Sarah Jo as she discovers her sexuality for the first time. In conversation with senior film writer Matt Donnelly for the Variety Virtual Sundance Studio presented by Audible, Dunham explained her thought process behind writing and directing the film.
