Root Of All Evil by Abney Park, 4 K, HDR

I originally wrote this song as a heavy gothrock track on our early 2000 s album, From Dreams Or Angels, and though that version is pretty great, I never felt the format of that song really made the lyrics stand out in the way they should. The arrangement and the lyrics seemed like separate entities that didn t go together. So in 2018 I wrote this arrangement, featuring a lot more acoustic instrumentation and a feel that really represented the lyrics more authentically. I consider it one of my more important songs, although it s not the sound or lyric content we eventually became know for. I tried to make a video for this song for years, and never really got the look right, and always ended up throwing everything away. .
