Module Models and Modelling: 9. Model Suites
Models might quickly become large and sophisticated and thus loose their advantage over complete description or documentation or theories. Models can either be build according to a component architecture (lecture 6) or build as an ensemble of associated models in dependence on aspects (see lecture 5) taken at present into consideration. Ensembles are loose collections of models. Associations of models are however very useful especially if we are able to maintain the coherence of such ensembles. Model suites are now introduced as wellassociated model ensembles which are accompanied by tracer for maintaining coherence and by controllers for enforcement of coherence. Model suites are thus targeting on high quality models with good dependability and welldefined adequacy of models, i. e. matured models of high utility, usage, and usefulness.
