Ground Driving Horses
We heard how Linda first learned a special ground driving technique, at age 12, for starting young horses under saddle from a book written by an American cavalry officer. Young Linda was intrigued by the gentle method described in the book that was so different from the traditional western U. S. method of bucking and sacking out young horses used by her riding instructor. This was the foundation for the current Tellington Method that includes the unique concept of Chest Line Driving by attaching the lines around the horses neck instead of the head. Through incremental, logical steps, Linda s system for teaching horse to be completely comfortable and confident with signals from behind and around their body, makes this method an invaluable process for training and retraining horses of all ages.
