Buddy Holly recorded Rave On, on the 25 January, in a few snatched hours between packing and unpacking. He had just finished a round of Christmas shows at the New York Paramount, and then set off on a tour with The Everly Brothers, Paul Anka and Danny And the Juniors. On Jan 27th, he was due to fly out to Hawaii for two shows and then on to a week long tour of Australia, accompanied by Paul Anka and Jerry Lee Lewis.
