The most stylishly striking survivors to emerge from the fragmentation of the punk phenomenon were the gothic punks or Goths. A fascination with the world s dark side, classic horror and art meant the music was also the most eclectic amongst the postpunk movements. Goth embraced the harshness of the industrial movement, the primal rage of demented rockabilly, the ethereal quality of classical, theatre, experimental, dance and punk rock itself.
