Parlami d amore Mariù from the Italian film Gli uomini che mascalzoni (1932). Music: Cesare Andrea Bixio. Lyrics: Ennio Neri. This wonderful song was originally sung by Vittorio De Sica in the film. Many singers have interpreted it since, and Tino Rossi s is one of the less pretentious and most eloquent and pleasing presentations. Other versions are here on YouTube, notably by De Sica on among irmoma s videos which I like very much. Contrast this with the more formal and unreal versions by certain opera personalities The beautiful woman pictured in this video is actress Lilia Vetti who became Rossi s second, and lifelong wife. The song was later featured in a French film with French Lyrics and has its own interesting history.
