Viola da gamba making, Part 2 making plans

In todays part of the viola da gamba making series Ill show you my process of making plans. Using the tracing paper sketches form the previous part Ive made my own body and neck templates. Now Im drawing a full scale model on millimeter paper with my custom dimensions and proportions. Ive decided to replace the carved head with a scroll and cover the whole pegbox with relief carvings.
