A Charming Chinese Challenge

This is my take on Troy Hooser s Charming Chinese Challenge. No changes from the original handling. I saw Joshua Jay perform this during his lecture a few years ago, and immediately bought the trick: finally a coin trick that I could get behind Everything is nicely motivated, it has a plot that is easy to follow, and things happen for a reason. It s one of the few coin tricks that I know of that doesn t conform to Jerry Seinfeld s definition of magic. Then I went home, and immediately realized how much harder coin magic is than card magic. I just wasn t ready to perform this. Recently, though, I felt like giving it another shot, and put in some serious work to make it look good. I think it s ready for performance now.
