The film costars Teri Garr, Cloris Leachman, Marty Feldman, Madeline Kahn, Kenneth Mars, Richard Haydn, and Gene Hackman. The film is a parody of the classic horror film genre, in particular the various film adaptations of Mary Shelley s 1818 novel Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus produced by Universal Pictures in the 1930s.
