Mithun Chakraborty was flooded with small film offers after the success of Surakshaa Taraana. He soon came to be known as The Poor Mans Amitabh. His style was unique, fresh different and the audience simply loved him. In fact, Mithun actually competed with himself and had no rivals. Mithuns big ticket moment came when filmmaker B. Subhash offered him Disco Dancer. The film went on to break all records and Mithun Chakraborty not only became a superstar but also a household name globally. Disco Dancer was a huge success in Russia, China, Europe, Middle East and Africa and the audience there went crazy dancing to Mithuns steps Bappi Lahiris tunes.
