Framer In The Picture (1945)
Item title reads Framer in the picture. Near Chelsea, London. M, S exterior of cafe, a painter goes inside and shows the proprietor, Mr Tanous, his painting. He takes him through to the back of the shop where he also runs a picture framing business, they find a suitable frame for it and shake hands. Various shots of the framing process as the picture is measured and the framer given instructions. The mitrecutting saw makes the joints and the edges are smoothed and trimmed on the shooting block. M, S as the edges of the frame are fastened together. Various shots as the ornate mouldings for edges and corner pieces are made in the plaster room. M, S as he holds up the finished frame.
