BALANCING FORCE AND MATTER: SUPERSYMMETRY Anew symmetry would lead us to new predictions and eventually to a more complete and newer theory of every thing. There is one very popular symmetry candidate in theoretical physics circles called supersymmetry, which imagines that the matter particles and forcecarrying particles are connected by a new kind of symmetry. There has been no experimental confirmation of supersymmetry thus far, but this approach has been considered by many scientists to be the most likely next big step in our journey toward a theory of everything.
