The Vanishing Lady (1897)

Intertitle reads: Over thirty years ago, when short skirts, lipsticks and cocktails were almost unknown, some humourist made a trick film and called it The Vanishing Lady. Man in roman costume carves figure of girl in doorway. As he finishes, the statue comes to life. The man expresses great love and desire for her, but every time the man goes to grab the girl she vanishes and reappears somewhere else. Intertitle reads: This 1896 film was one of the first trick films made a queer visitor today from a vanished age.
