Charmaine is one of the songs that really seems to capture the spirit of the 1920s. I especially like this version, with the somewhat affected singing voice of the SilverMasked Tenor (Joseph M. White) perfect for the lyrics expressing love s yearning The Silvertown Orchestra was a radio show sponsored by the B. F. Goodrich rubber company in the 1920s and 30s. Charmaine was the theme song of the movie What Price Glory, released in the fall of 1926, with a synchronized musical score.
