Reissiger: Webers Last Waltz, Fairy Waltz
Carl Gottlieb Reissiger (17981859) was a nearcontemporary of Schubert, who, like Beethoven, studied with Salieri in Vienna. He worked for most of his life at the Dresden court, where he succeeded Weber as Kapellmeister. He is best known today for Weber s Last Waltz socalled because a manuscript was found amongst Weber s papers at his death, and misattributed to him.
