Bio By She Rox All Female Bands: Los Angeles, California based Sister Strange has a unique history that dates back to the start of the 1990s when the bubble gum hair metal bands seemed to be fading out and grunge rock was moving in. Sister Strange is one of the few, if not one of the only bands that balanced this music crossover and continued through when many others were quick to call it a day. Sister Strange formed out of the ashes of the all female progressive metal band Warbride, which in itself proved groundbreaking not only for being the first female progressive metal band but for its high caliber of musicians. Although high caliber, many came and went in what would become a revolving door of musicians. The downfall of Warbride however seemed to come to ahead when its founder and lead guitarist Lori Linstruth, finally left the lineup along with keyboardist, Velia Garay shortly after leaving drummer Michelle Lee (Gignac), vocalist Randee Robbins and bassist Dyna Shirasaki, and then guitarist Sheila
