GAME RECAP: Penguins vs. Blackhawks , O Connor s First Goal and Sullivan s Milestone Win
The first Penguins home game in front of a full house had quite the loud crowd and that crowd was not disappointed. Before some of them could even find their way to their seats, Teddy Blueger scored to put the Penguins up, 10, just 15 seconds into the contest. Drew OConnor followed that up, making it 20, with his first NHL goal. Then, Brock McGinn lit the lamp for the first time wearing the Penguins uniform. Danton Heinen scored the final goal of the opening period to increase Pittsburghs lead to 40. Heinen has scored in each of Pittsburghs first three games, and a threegame goal scoring streak is a new career high for the Penguins forward. Kane got the Blackhawks on the board in the 2nd, but Jason Zucker tucked in a backhand to increase Pittsburghs lead back to four goals. Dach tallied the lone 3rd period goal, but the Penguins were just too much, and held on to win, 52. Coach Mike Sullivan earned his 253rd regularseason victory, making him the winningest coach of all time for the Penguins.
