Using Mobile Apps to Leverage OSINT Investigations, SANS OSINT Summit 2021

We all know how OSINT can leverage investigations in general. However, not everything can be found using the browserbased access to platforms such as Instagram or Facebook. In order to find out who is behind a certain phone number or email address, the use of mobile phone apps can be helpful. From WhatsApp to Snapchat, from Google Lens to caller ID apps; the presenter will show how these apps can provide valuable information and provide further leads to follow up upon with traditional OSINT techniques.
