We take a dip in the past with this splendid Ferrari 639 F1 (F189) s, n 106 ex Nigel Mansell. We are at the Mugello circuit for the Corse Clienti program, with the session reserved for Formula One singleseaters. Collector Holger Lange took to the track allowing us to hear the melody of the naturally aspirated 3. 5Liter V12 engine. This singleseater is one of two built as prototypes for the change of regulations that would have been introduced with the abandonment of turbo engines. It is, therefore, the basis of the future 640 F1, which debuted in the 1989 season. Official drivers Nigel Mansell, Gerhard Berger and the test driver Roberto Moreno conducted the development work and test program for the F1 Tipo 639 s, n 106 at Ferrari s private test track in Fiorano during 1988 and 1989.
