INDIA VS. PAKISTAN FACE OFF AT WAGAH, ATTARI BORDER CEREMONY ( WITH COMMENTARY) (4 K)
The Wagah, Attari Border Ceremony at the IndiaPakistan border, which has occurred here since 1959, is the most unique and surreal changing of the guard, flag lowering ceremony in the world. Why Because India and Pakistan are basically enemies and have fought three wars against each other since 1947 and even today, they are technically still at war over the disputed territory of Kashmir. Furthermore, soldiers from each side come within inches of crossing each other s border, as they continually taunt and try to outdo each other with highstepping, chest puffing, arm waving, and clenched fists. What makes this ceremony even more unique is the festive preceremony; I felt like I was at an American football game instead of being at a tense border ceremony. In fact, the preceremony is just as fascinating as the ceremony itself. Despite the rivalry, it was a display of pageantry, respect, and cooperation, which gives me hope for the future of IndianPakistani relations Please SUBSCRIBE to Andy
