Comprehensible Input Stephen Krashen is a Genius
Comprehensible input: Stephen Krashen has been a leading voice in education for over 40 years. He coined the term comprehensible input which is about giving students engaging, comprehensible content and getting them to read it on their own. In this video, he explains why we should never underestimate the power of comprehension and how reading and listening with meaning can make all the difference in learning He talks about why understanding foundries are critical for language acquisition. It has been found that the use of extensive and intensive reading methods is needed to promote a person s language development. One of the most important things that I learned is this: people get very little from what they hear or read unless it has meaning for them, Krashen says in his talk at an International Reading Association conference. It was also found that reading must be accompanied by comprehension if you want to make any real progress in learning a language.
