Iraq: Mosul food shortages leave soldiers struggling to contain crowds during aid delivery
Food shortages in the AlZahra neighbourhood of eastern Mosul left soldiers struggling to control crowds receiving aid, Monday, with tensions continuing into Tuesday over food distribution in the area. Displaced men, women and children were seen chasing vehicles distributing food, with some managing to climb onto the back of aid vans, scrabbling to take boxes of supplies before the vehicles left. On Tuesday, Iraqi security officers reportedly fired gunshots in order to disperse the crowds. Video ID: 20
