Nigel Westlake Guitarfish, performed by Weimar Guitar Quartet
1st movement from Six Fish by Nigel Westlake. Alternating movements are, will be uploaded by Karmen Stendler on her channel. Sunfish Spangled Emperor Guitarfish are a mixture between rays and sharks. Their broad, guitarshaped body is responsible for both its name and its raylike qualities, where their long narrow tail emulates that of a shark. They typically feed on the bottom of shallow ocean floors and travel in large schools. In this piece of music you can hear the scuttling and gliding of the guitarfish along the sand beds as it searches for crustaceans and mollusks to eat. left to right: Stephanie Jones Karmen Stendler Hanna Link Jakob Schmidt Audio Recording by Leopold Stoffels Video Recording by Jakob Schmidt
