Tyria Then and Now Ascalon
So this is a new series that I will be working on that compares the geography and significant landmarks of GW1 locations to those in GW2. I have found this to be very interesting for a few reasons. First of all, much of the general geography in GW2 is much less mountainous than that of GW1, probably because the GW1 world was more linear and so they needed to create more barriers. As a result, many landmarks are still very recognizable but the land around them may be completely I noticed that some things are no longer on the map, either because of mechanicsrelated reasons or for lore reasons, such as the apparent destruction of Fort Ranik. Next week I will be covering the and the Steamspurs, because they used to be part of the Shiverpeaks.
