Denmarks Jelling Stone is one of the most famous runestones in the world. Now, new 3D scans of the artefact suggest that a viking queen had much more power and influence than previously thought. Archaeologists say their findings suggest Queen Thyra, best known as the wife and mother of early rulers Gorm the Old and Harald Bluetooth, was important in her own right and had a pivotal role in shaping the realm.
