Tres fábulas de Villa Ocampo Mariano Llinás, Alejo Moguillansky, 2011
A documentary fiction about the historic home of Victoria Ocampo in San Isidro. Followed by a discussion with writer Alan Pauls, and filmmakers Mariano Llinás (codirector of the film) and Augustín Mendilharzu. A fugitive, a fetishist and a detective walk through a mansion built in the nineteenth century, on the banks of Río de La Plata. Between its walls there are resonances, portraits of illustrious or unknown people, books, memories, furniture from different eras and styles. At the center of this secret order is a woman who has been portrayed, throughout her life, by painters of the belle époque, by neoclassical sculptors, by avantgarde photographers. To reconstruct the history of that woman, each of the visitors will create a fable, in which the essential names of twentiethcentury culture are intertwined.
