Popping Out a dermal piercing on the Right Cheek
Sorry, i forgot to add my explanation here in the video description. Here goes: This patient requested that I remove her dermal piercing because she wanted anesthesia to be placed in the area. I was able to remove the piercing pretty easily, and I decided to put a stitch in to try to make the area a fine line instead or a small hole. Well, I shouldn t have done that, since I couldn t refresh the edges without making the hole a lot bigger. I was essentially just trapping fully healed skin and this led to a local skin infection. She saw this, and came back in within a few days with swelling, pain, and some purulence in the area. I took a bacterial culture and placed her on antibiotics and thankfully she improved very quickly. She is happy with the way it is healing, and so am I. She has some pigment in her skin, so the area is a little darker (called post inflammatory pigmentation) but will continue to lighten up with time, that is not permanent br, br,
